Hello lovely Allume friends!
We’ve noticed over the past few years that Allume serves as a great place for online groups to be able to gather together in person, and this year, we’d like to help you guys schedule your meet-ups. We also want to ask your groups to honor the fact that we’ve spent a year putting together a stellar agenda for you, and ask that you plan meet-ups during the free times within the conference.
This year, we have a couple of multi-use rooms reserved where we can help schedule larger meet-ups, and we will also reserve some meet-up space during select meals, but if you want space reserved for you, you MUST let us know by October 1, so that we can help you work through it all. Below we have an online form for you to fill out so that we can appropriately place your groups. For example, the MOB Society may have 40 of you gathering, and we want to make sure that you have ample space to meet, and can reserve a room. If you’re a part of say, the Christian Vegan and Gluten-Free Daughters of the American Revolution group, we would probably have an easier time sitting you all together at a meal since there will only be perhaps 5 of you. Get where we’re going with this? We want to help you have your meet-up and make sense of the space you use as well. So, figure out who is your main contact gal, and have her reserve the meet-up space for you. (We don’t need to have all 40 MOB Society gals reserving for the 1 group.)
There is plenty of later night free time each night from 10pm on that is a great time to schedule meetups as well . (Let’s be honest here, we all know that sleep is something that you can try to get more of at home when you’re not gathering with friends from all over the country.) Also, Saturday afternoon has a chunk of time where we will schedule meetups after the Impact Opportunities. If your group prefers to hop down the street to a coffee shop or cafe for your meet-up (there are TONS within walking distance of the hotel), then we just want to ask you to please honor our agenda and not pull people away from sessions that have been planned for you.
So, to recap. If you want to have a meet-up at Allume, please have your group leader fill out THIS FORM and submit to us by October 1. Prime space will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. If you want to go off property for your meet-up, please just plan it during free time, and not during the official sessions.
We’re excited for this fall and all that God has in store for our community and the conference! We look forward to seeing you all and helping to make this year’s Allume the best one yet!
Love,
Logan, Sarah Mae, and the Allume Team

July 2, 2013 at 7:01 amYou strike a great balance here! Thanks so much for the well-thought out wisdom of how to gather in our “small groups” and yet still jump into the refreshing lake of new relationships, perspectives, and information from fully participating in all that Allume offers.

July 2, 2013 at 1:44 pmThank you Kim! Our goal is to offer the spaces for people to meet, but also because we know some of what God is doing with Allume this year, we dont want gatherings to cause people to miss out either.
