Let’s do something fun today. Let’s celebrate our gifts and talents and what makes us unique as bloggers.

We tend to beat ourselves up for what we don’t do right, don’t accomplish and haven’t  yet achieved.  Sometimes we beat ourselves up so much that we are paralyzed with fear to even take a step. I’m guilty of this very thing.

I have far more things on my to-do list for my blogging than I have actually achieved.  I have unwritten ebooks in my head and widgets to install and posts left half written in my drafts. But today, as I was thinking on these things and starting to get a little depressed, I was reminded that I need to take my thoughts captive.  God knows my limitations and most of these ideals are my own and not pressure that He puts on me.

Let’s allow ourselves to think today about how far we’ve come and what we have learned and achieved.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14

Let’s praise God for how fearfully and wonderfully we are made. For our uniqueness and the way He weaves our stories together for His glory.

Because the truth is that YOU ROCK! There is no one else exactly like you. No one else has lived your life, walked in your shoes and has truth to tell in the same way that you do.

Your blog? It’s awesome! It’s a reflection of you and that is beautiful. Even if you have things to polish up, look for the beauty where it is right now.  It’s a process and I guarantee you that being grateful for where you are at each step of the way will get you farther than beating yourself up ever did.

Speak kind words to yourself today.  Go ahead.  Tell us something absolutely amazing about you and your blog today!  We can’t wait to hear and celebrate with you!

  1. Such truth! Thank you for this Kristin! I’m new to the world of allume but am loving it already – hope to meet you at the conference in October!
    My blog ( http://steveandnickoleeroberts.blogspot.com ) is about what God is teaching me through being a missionary in Madagascar, being a wife & a momma, and even ordinary things like doing the laundry. He has provided me with intentional time to spend writing out His story through my life this year and I am forever grateful. I so often have to write/type out stories before I can truly understand what He was teaching me!

      • Hi – yep, we’ve been here for 3 years through the International Mission Board and my mom actually discovered your conference through something online…she told me about it b/c she knows how much i love blogging and now it’s all worked out for me to come!   2. What’s amazing about my blog,Treasuring MOMents (http://treasuringmoments.com/), is that it’s not sugar-coated. It’s a transparent look into parenting as a Christian–particularly with teenagers. I have received many comments from readers about how they appreciate my realness.

  3. Kristin, I was feeling so discouraged today and God used you to redirect my focus. Thank you! My blog is all about empowering writers to spread the message God has given them through digital technology, especially social media. I try to share how to use it as a tool and NOT let it take over your life. Again, thanks for the uplifting message!

  6. I typically think of the “better” post I could have written after I’ve published one. I should have left this out and used those words……It’s hard, but I’m working on letting those thoughts go. Your encouragement reminded me of one of those conversation hearts a girl in our church gave me years ago when we were pastoring a congregation. She was always so quiet but eager to learn. The put that little candy heart in my hand that had “You Rock” imprinted on it. I kept it for years. Thanks, Kristin for bringing that back to memory and adding your affirmation to it. WE are fearfully and WONDERFULLY made!

  7. Your post was a gift from The Lord!! My blog is for those with chronic pain and needing encouragement. I want to help them Navigate Life with Chronic Pain. However, my pain limits what I can do. Fewer posts, no conferences or traveling, etc. Today is one of those days that I needed some encouragement, Thank you!
